Dhagandey Helps TC Thrash Foakaidhoo
Dhagandey help TC beat Foakaidhoo 4-0 in the last game of the first round of the Premier League.
TC broke the deadlock in the 17th minute when Ibrahim Mahudhee (Feydhoo Ibbe) scored. Taking the ball from wide, Ibbe beat two defenders before scoring at Foakaidhoo keeper Saqib Hanif's near post.
In the Second half things were looking better for Foakaidhoo as they kept pushing to draw the game. Injury to dependable center back Ahmed Sizan(Sippe) slowed things down for the Minivan Championship side. Seven minutes later at 75th minute another Foakaidhoo defender Ahmed Vijudhaan limped off the pitch.
Ishan Ibrahim (Sattu)scored a brace at 79th and 81st minute before the stage was set for the man of the match Dhagandey(Ali Ashfaq) to score the 4th goal for TC. Directly from a corner Dhagandey volleyed the ball powerfully beyond the stranded Foakaidhoo goalkeeper from outside the penalty box.
Talking to the press after the game, Foakaidhoo coach, Ali Nisthar Mohamed said that the change in fixture is not good for the likes of his team, as he cannot rotate the squad. He also said that the fixtures from the next round is worrying for Foakaidhoo FC. Meanwhile TC boss Mohamed Nizam said that it was a difficult game, praising the effort from Foakaidhoo.
TC remains in first place while Victory overtakes Foakaidhoo in the standings.
The second round fixtures start on the 21st of October when Maziya take on Green Streets.
