Green Streets Keeps Pressure On Top Four Beating Victory
Green Streets beat Victory 4-1 to keep the pressure on the top four.
Ali Suzain's Green Streets took the lead in somewhat questionable fashion when ball bounced off the cross bar and hit the hand of one of the Victory defenders. Referee Adam Fazeel awarded Green Streets a penalty, Roland Rasel Bilala stepped up and passed the ball into the bottom corner to give Green Streets the lead. Mohamed Shaffaz added Green Streets second goal in the 33rd minute well worked short corner. Before the break Victory got one back from an unmarked Ahmed Rasheed(Ammadey), who scored from Miraah Mohamed cross.
Second half turned out worse for Victory as Bilala missed many opportunities for Green Streets. Roland Rasel Bilala did not waste the opportunity gifted to him fifteen minutes from time when he scored from inside the box when Victory failed to clear the ball from a Free Kick. Eight minutes later Bilala competed his hattick tapping in his third goal of the game.
Talking to the press after the game Victory's Assistant Coach Ahmed Niaz(Niyatte) said that compare to their off the field problems he is happy with the effort of all the players. "The only problem is we conceded a bit too much" he said. Niatte attended the press conference instead of Coach Mohamed Nazeeh. Ali Suzain said he was very happy with the confidence his players showed in the game. "Their confidence in the game gave me more satisfaction than the result itself" said the Legendary Coach Ali Suzain.
Victory switched from a five man defense against New Radiant to a back four against Green Streets and that did not work out for Victory leaving them in 8th place. Their next game is against bottom club Thimarafushi. Green Streets remain in fifth place, but in much better form to challenge for the top four. Green Streets will play against New Radiant on the 17th.
Later tonight New Radiant will play against Nilandhoo.
