Match Day 8: Preview of All 5 Premier League Matches and Live Match Links
In the 8th match day for the Premier League sides, we bring you our views and predictions.
Match 1: Club Eagles V Fehendhoo
11th October, 16:00
Eagles are in excellent form after thrashing the high flying Foakaidhoo. They meet a Fehendhoo side desperate in need of a win to stay away from the relegation zone. Things have not gone well for them in absence of their coach Ismail Anil, away with under 19 National Team. Second from bottom, Fehendhoo will need to win in order to keep their place in the league for the second round. Eagles meanwhile has rallied their troops and are in line to give a serious fight to TC at the top of the table.
Players To Watch: Hussain Sifau has been in excellent for Eagles, the wing back has been scoring regularly for Club and Country. For Fehendhoo, Adam Naseem the Fehendhoo captain has been solid even on bad days for Fehendhoo.
Our Prediction: 3-0 to Eagles
Match 2: Maziya V Foakaidhoo
11th Oct, 21:00
5th placed Maziya needs to win this game to stay clear of Green Streets who are level on points. Maziya welcomes back Maldives International Amdhan Ali(Andy) back from long term injury, who is rumored to start tomorrow againts Foakaidhoo five points and two places behind them in the league. Foakaidhoo has shown early promise and a way back from the humiliating defeat is expected. However BoalhaMV believes Maziya would be the stronger side
Players to watch: Battle between Hassan Naiz (Dhaadhu) and Mohamed Jailam(Oggy). Both the forwards have been exceptional for their clubs. Oggy in a recent interview has claimed Dhaadhu is the player he looks up to besides Dhagandey, it will be interesting to see Oggy perform in the same game as the Maldives international Dhaadhu.
Our Prediction: 2-0 to Maziya
Match 3: Victory V Green Streets
12th Oct, 16:00
Very important game for both the clubs, 8th placed Victory needs a win to stay in touch with Green Streets who are in 5th place. Victory needs a win to leap over Nilandhoo and Foakaidhoo who have difficult games. Green Streets has had an excellent game winning against the favorites TC. Former Victory coach Ali Suzain will face his brother Nazeeh in the battle of the brothers. It will be a tight game, the form Victory showed against New Radiant, we believe Nazeeh's Victory will manage to steal a point against his brother Suzain's Green Streets.
Players to Watch: Ibrahim Labaan Shareef who was instrumental in stopping TC will be the man to watch. On the other side his counterpart Mohamed Imran(Kuda Imma) had excellent game against New Radiant is expected to stop any Green Streets attacks.
Our Prediction: 1-1
Match 4: New Radiant V Nilandhoo
12th Oct, 21:00
2nd placed New Radiant no doubt would want to make up for the points dropped against Victory, They will be up against 7th placed Nilandhoo who are a place above Victory in the standings. Nilandhoo has appointed Adam Abdul Latheef (Lacchey) as their coach and things have started to look good for them, though they won their last game against Fehendhoo. Star studded New Radiant will be too strong for Nilandhoo though.
Players To Watch: Ali Fasir (Sentey) came off the bench to save New Radiant in their last game, though New Radiant has many stars in their lineup, we believe Sentey still is the one who look out for. For Nilandhoo, former Eagles trickster Ibrahim Furugan(Fugey) likely to be the star man.
Our Prediction: 2-0 to New Radiant
Match 5: TC Sports V Thimarafushi
13th Oct, 16:00
In the top verses the bottom clash, BoalhaMV believes TC will have an easy day. TC after dropping points against Green Streets are likely to be fired up for this game. Thimarafushi only managed to gain a point in the Premier League so far. They are not mathematically out of the league yet though. The Minivan Championship winners need to win both their remaining games and hope Victory and Fehendhoo lose both their games. TC meanwhile are only four points away from New Radiant and Eagles.
Players To Watch: Of course Ali Ashfaq (Dhagandey) is the man for TC, though he has not scored as much as he normally does, Dhagandey has been instrumental in keeping opposition defenses terrorized. Thimarafushi captain Ameen Sah scored an amazing goal in the Minivan Championship final match, he is expected to run the midfield for Thimarafushi in this game.
Our Prediction: 5-0 to TC Sports
The game to watch will be Victory's game against Green Streets. TC's place at the top is unlikely to be challenged after this round, even if they lose they will be a point ahead. Bottom two will not play the second round, so the pressure is on Thimarafushi and Fehendhoo. Victory is not completely safe yet.
