Foakaidhoo Beats Nilandhoo to Enter The Top Four In The Dhivehi Premier League
Foakaidhoo beats Nilandhoo 2-0 to enter the top four of the Dhivehi Premier League.
In a heated game played in the rain, Nilandhoo perhaps looked the stronger side with Pakistan Vice Captain Saqib Hanif's two amazing saves that kept the game at 0-0 for Foakaidhoo. When Saqib was well beaten left back Hussain Nabeeh saved the day for Foakaidhoo in the first half with a clearance off the line to deny Nilandhoo.
Early in the second half youngster Ahmed Samaal was introduced for Foakaidhoo. Habila Marlle who had been a rock in the Nilandhoo defense was finally starting to be troubled with the 3 Foakaidhoo youngsters racing forward. Marlle was sent off for a tactical foul and was given marching orders. Few minutes earlier he had already been booked for a foul on Mohamed Jailam (Oggy)
17 year old Hassan Nazeem Gassim run from the right beat the goalkeeper and substitute Ahmed Samaal placed the ball into the empty net in the 80th minute. Five minutes later Oggy doubled Foakaidhoo's lead to score his fifth goal of the Premier League.
The win takes Foakaidhoo to 4th place above Eagles who has a game in hand. Nilandhoo remains in 8th place ahead of Fehendhoo and bottom club Thimarafushi.
