Segrt Blasts The Media Ahead Of The Semi-Final Match
Maldives

Maldives National Team head coach Petar Segrt blasts the media ahead of the semi-final match against Nepal.

The coach reminded the nation that "I am still the coach of Maledives" he said, "I Am Still Coach. Relax, I Will Be The Coach Tomorrow Also Because, I Have A Very Good President At FAM, Mr. Bassam And I Am Relaxed With This Situation"

Talking to the media in the press conference, Petar Segrt said that people have even gone as far as contacting his family and that it is too much.

"Don't listen to ths media people" is another message from Petar Segrt saying that the media only cares about themselves.

Some of the media has called for the resignation of the Croatian and for Ahmed Shakir, his assistant to take over for the remaining games of the SAFF Championship.

Segrt was accompanied by Mohamed Mujuthaaz instead of captain Akram Abdul Ghani who had a knock in the game against Sri Lanka. Segrt said that aku is fine and later in the interview he said that he hopes Aku will recover. This is especially worrying for the public as Segrt said the same excuse for Mohamed Umair before dropping the play-maker. Sources close to the player has since dismissed the claim of Segrt, saying that Umair had been fit all along.

Mujuthaz said that the team is prepared for a result against Nepal.

Segrt has called for unity before the semi-final game. The route to the semi final, according to him is not important. Segrt is very positive of getting a result against Nepal.

The headcoach has called for the nation not to lose focus.

Maldives reached the semi-final on a toss of a coin, after finishing level on points and goal difference against Sri Lanka. This is the poorest showing by Maldives in any SAFF Championships. Maldives has not scored a single goal in this tournament. The Nation was in shock when Segrt dropped the goal-machine of the region Ali Ashfaq, claiming that Ashfaq (Dhagandey) is too old for the next world cup.
