Maldives announces friendly match against Pakistan.

Maldives will play Pakistan on the 27th in the Grand Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar. The match will be played at 22:00pm local time.

Maldives had been camping in Qatar since early August. The team is in good spirits and are preparing for their second friendly match ahead of SAFF Suzuki Cup. Earlier Maldives beat Qatari second tier club Al Markhiya 4-3. Maldives will travel to Bangladesh directly from Qatar for their opening match against Sri Lanka on the 7th of september. Sri Lanka and Maldives will battle out in a three nation group with favorites India.

Pakistan meanwhile impressed in their Asian Games campaign. having lost to Japan 0-4 and Vietnam 0-3, They beat Nepal 2-1. Pakistan are in the SAFF Cup after a three year absence due to a FIFA ban. Pakistan will play their opening match against the hosts Bangladesh. Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan are in the group A of SAFF Suzuki Cup.
