Pakistan beats Nepal to keep their hopes alive
Pakistan beats Nepal 2-1 to keep their hopes alive for the round of 16 in the ongoing Asian Games.
Shahbaz Younus gave the worst start for the Nation with an own goal in the 11th minutes. It looked for for Pakistan till Muhammad Bilal scored the equalizer. Captain Saddam Hussain the gave them the lead less than 20 minutes from full time. Pakistan has revived hopes for the round of 16 as one of the best 3rd placed teams.
Pakistan started the competition with defeats to Vietnam and Japan. With the victory they stand in third place sending Nepal out of the competition. They have to wait for results elsewhere, but the results keeps them very much alive in the competition.
Pakistan and Nepal will meet again soon in the SAFF Suzuki Championship group A match on the 4th of September. Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan are in the same group as the hosts Bangladesh who stunned Qatar earlier today.
