Bangladesh impresses in draw with Thailand
Bangladesh impresses in a 1-1 draw against Thailand.
First half ended scoreless with excellent saves by Bangladeshi goalkeeper Ashraful Islam Rana again.
Bangladesh broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute by Mahbubur Rahman. A long throw into the box was flicked on for Mahbubur Rahman to score with goalkeeper already stranded in the no-man's land. Bangladesh came close again minutes later only for brave goalkeeping of Nont Muangnam keeping them at bay. Bangladesh needed Ashraful Islam Rana on several occations to save them, but his clearance resulted in Thailand's equalizer in the 80th minute by Supachai Chaided blasting the ball into the net.
The next game for Bangladesh is against the Qatar. They have a point from two games. A win against Qatar will see Bangladesh progress to the last 16. Top two teams plus best third placed teams progress to the round of 16. Qatar had also lost to Uzbekistan and drew against Thailand. Qatar and Bangladesh will play their final group game on the 19th.
