Shaweed is elected the senior Vice President of SWAFF.
Mohamed Shaweed, the President of the Olympic Committee of the Maldives has been elected the Senior Vice President of the newly formed South West Asian Football Federation. The Saudi led organization elected Dr. Adil bin Mohamed Izzat as it's President in it's first general assembly. Shaweed was elected ahead of Mazhoom Faisal of Pakistan in the event held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Subrata Dutta is the Vice President for the south and Abdulla Al Junaibi for the west. Members for the south division are Karma Tsering Sherpa and Mahfuza Akhtar. Alsikh Ali Khalifa and Fahad Al Hamlan are elected members of the west block.
The member countries of the newly formed SWAFF are Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Yemen, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and the Maldives
Former VB Addu FC President, Mohamed Shaweed is also a member of the executive committee of Asian Football Confederation (AFC). VB rose to prominence when Shaweed's family business turned Island Football Club into VB Addu FC and invested heavily in the club. Before it's decline in last couple of years, VB had won the top division league and FA cup titles.
