In the ongoing Dhiraagu U-13 Youth League, Maziya Academy has claimed their third straight win in the league against Maldives Soccer Mates (MSM) in today evening match.

In today’s match, Maziya Academy boys won the match by a later winning goal scored in the added minutes to the regular time. Junior green boys won the match by 2-1.

During the match, Maldives Soccer Mates began well as it was their second match of the league. They have won their opening match in the league against Eagles Football Academy by 2-1. It was MSM juniors who scored the opening of the evening. 14 minutes into the game, a beautiful goal by Yousuf Aish (J#6) gave the lead for his MSM side. And MSM juniors hold on to their lead strongly as the match went to half time.

In the second part of the today evening match, Maziya Academy side, the side who were searching for their third straight win, found it very hard to find a goal to level the game as MSM boys were at their best defending the game. But then, at the 44-minute mark the game took a twist. A brilliant finishing by Mohamed Iyan (J#17) found the back of the net of MSM goal. Maziya Academy levelled the game. And then the junior boys were in the driving seat. They brought their “A” game and managed to win the match by a late winning goal by Mohamed Iyan. He scored completed his brace, the winning goal at the 55-minute mark.

This youth league is the brand new chapter in the development program of FAM’s “Towards Future”.
Officials from both FAM and respective academies were present to watch the game. Moreover, the parents of the players, friends and families also were present during the match making the environment more exciting.

All the fixtures of this Dhiraagu U-13 Youth League 2018, matches will be played during the weekends. It was decided wisely by FAM as not to interrupt the school routine and extra studying times of these players.

There will be two matches played on each weekend day, Friday and Saturday.

Friday, 20^th July:

• Hulhumale’ Sports School (HSS) vs Eagles Football Academy (EFA) – Kick-off. 15:10 hrs.
• BG Sports Academy vs Early Touch Football Academy (ETFA) – Kick-off. 16:40 hrs.

Saturday, 21^st July:

• AM Sports Academy (AMSA) vs MS Helping Hand Academy – Kick-off. 15:10 hrs.
• Hulhumale’ Sports School (HSS) vs Maldives Soccer Mates (MSM)– Kick-off. 16:40 hrs.

All the matches of Dhiraagu U-13 Academy Championship will be played at the FAM mini turf pitch.
