Dhivehi League Champions New Radiant wins narrowly against Foakaidhoo tonight to move back to the second place of the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League.

In a rain affected wet surface, both teams started the match well, with New radiant maintaining the majority of possession while Fokaidhoo was dangerous in their counter attacks. Specially khahraba, the left winger of Foakaidhoo had a good  number of his dazzling runs, but was unable to produce the end result in any of his counter attacks. New Radiant took the lead of the match in the 25th minute from Ali Fasir (Sentey's) goal. A long ball played in behind the defence of Foakiadhoo was inch perfect, which Sentey ran into and beat the in the incoming goal keeper to score the only goal of the match. The rest of the first half was mainly played in Foakaidhoo half, even though New radiant created very little in terms of goal scoring chances.

New Radiant coach and bench very much complained about the delaying tactics as they saw from Foakiadhoo with, 4 minutes being added to the first half extra time.

Second half saw a slow game, with New Radiant maintaining the lion’s share of position in their half and trying for find a defense penetrating through ball, which they were unable to. Foakaidhoo stick to their solid defence and counter attacking game and had 2-3 goal scoring chances which they were unable to take.

As the match came to the end, Foakaidhoo players move forward in search of a goal, which crated gaps in the defence and new Radiant had 2 clear goal scoring chances which was stopped by the strong hands of the Foakaidhoo goal keeper. Foakaidhoo created little in the final few minutes as New Radiant’s experience players controlled the ball and made sure they finished the match with the lead.

With 10 points, New Radiant move back to second place of the leagues table on goal difference, while TC lead the table with 12 points. Foakaidhoo are with just 2 points and remains in the 8^th place of the league points table.
