Dhiraagu U-13 Youth League: Maziya Academy and MSM wins today’s macthes
In the ongoing Dhiraagu U-13 Youth League, Maziya Academy claims the second win in the league while Maldives Soccer Mates (MSM) makes a wining debut in to the league.
In today’s matches, first match of the evening was between Eagles Football Academy and Maldives Soccer Mates (MSM). Maldives Soccer Mates won the match with a narrow margin of 1-2.
During the match MSM juniors managed to score two goals in the first part of the match. A brace from Ahmed Alaau (J#5) for MSM side lead to half time MSM leading the match by 0-2.
Second part of the match went on average as MSM find it hard to score and add more goals to their account against Eagles Football Academy (EFA) side. As it was the second match for EFA side, they seemed little adapted to the league little better than MSM juniors. Just before the final whistle of the match, Ahmed Raif Naseem (J#10) scored for EFA side and found his way to scoresheet. But it was too little and too late for EFA boys. The solo goal by Raif was not enough to gain atleast a point from the match as the match ended on MSM favor by 1-2.
In today’s Saturday second match, Hulhumale’ Sports School (HSS) boys debuted into the league against Maziya Academy side. The match was won by Maziya Academy side by 0-2.
It is the second match for Maziya junior green boys and on the other hand the first match for HSS side.
It was a tight game as both side was showing a solid play. Though it was the first game of the league for HSS boys, they held on to stress junior green boys side. But just before the interval Mohamed Layan (J#7) found back of net of the HSS goal and gave lead to his Maziya Academy side. Match went to interval Maziya Academy leading by 0-1.
Second half of the match also went as expected and nothing less than first half. HSS boys was strong and solid against Maziya boys. Maziya being already satisfied with first win from first match against Eagles Football Academy side, they were looking for their second straight win. And they were successful with the objective from this match as they managed to win the match with 0-2 score. Yooshau Bin Ali Nasheed (J#17) scored the second goal for Maziya just before referee blow the final whistle for the game.
This youth league is the brand new chapter in the development program of FAM’s “Towards Future”.
Officials from both FAM and respective academies were present to watch the game. Moreover, the parents of the players, friends and families also were present during the match making the environment more exciting.
Dhiraagu is the main sponsor of this brand new chapter of the development program of Football of Maldives.
All the fixtures of this Dhiraagu U-13 Youth League 2018, matches will be played during the weekends. It was decided wisely by FAM as not to interrupt the school routine and extra studying times of these players.
There will be two matches played on each weekend day, Friday and Saturday.

Friday, 20th July:
- Hulhumale’ Sports School (MSM) vs Eagles Football Academy (EFA) – Kick-off. 15:00 hrs.
- Maziya Academy vs Maldives Soccer Mates (MSM) – Kick-off. 16:30 hrs.
Saturday, 21st July:
- AM Sports Academy (AMSA) vs MS Helping Hand Academy – Kick-off. 15:00 hrs.
- BG Sports Academy vs Early Touch Football Academy (ETFA) – Kick-off. 16:30 hrs.
All the matches of Dhiraagu U-13 Academy Championship will be played at the FAM mini turf pitch.
