Nilandhoo holds on to upset Victory Sports
Nilandhoo holds on to upset Victory Sports Club in tonight's Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League match.
Much of the first half was Nilandhoo defending the Red giants. Nilandhoo was close to taking the lead with experienced former Maldives International goalkeeper Kuda Imma (Mohamed Imran) saving Victory in a one on one situation.
Second half victory introduced Nattey (Ahmed Nashid) who influenced the Victory attack, much to the frustration of Victory, Nilandhoo countered the change by changing former Maziya and New Radiant player Farooq Ismail to close him down in right back position.
Victory missed many chances with Ammadey (Ahmed Rasheed) going close. His replacement kalhey (Ali Nafiu) also missed a golden opportunity. Nilandhoo had the better end to the match though going close on several occasions almost scoring, but for the heroics of Mohamed Imran.
The match ended 0-0. Victory would no doubt be disappointed with the result as although they sit at the 4th place just above Maziya. Nilandhoo meanwhile got the first point of the season and they sit at the bottom of the table behind Thimarafushi on goals scored. Both on 1 point with a minus 12 goal difference.
