Australian midfielder Dixon joins Eagles
Club Eagles has signed an Australian midfielder, Daniel Dixon for the upcoming Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League 2018.
Dixon is the first Australian player to sign for a Maldivian club who had previously played for Middlesbrough and Carlisle United. The 23 year old has the capability of running at a high pace with the ball and can also create great chances as he is gifted with a superb vision. His talent will certainly strengthen the core midfield of Club Eagles and will help the front line with as he is good at creating chances.
"First of all thanks to Eagles management, I am very happy to have him in our squad. For sure with Dixon, our squad has strengthened. It will take sometime to bring out the best out of him as this place is whole new for him. We are patient and I am looking forward for an exciting season." Eagles head coach, Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan) commented on Dixon joining the squad.
Dixon had also expressed that he thinks the opportunity as a new challenge and Maldivian football is very good and physical in his perspective. He has also stated that he is honoured to play for Club Eagles and is very excited to play his first match hopefully next Thursday.
Club Eagles finished Male League in second and is currently preparing for the Premier League matches. Dixon has joined the club's training today and is very likely to appear in the opening match against Male League champions, New Radiant Sports Club.
