Maziya Sports and Recreation nailed a narrow win against Victory Sports Club to strengthen their hold in second place.

Maziya now have a three point lead in second place with 24 points while Victory are in fifth place with 19 points. Champions New Radiant have a 10 point gap at the summit of the table.

The first half so plenty of chances fall for both teams. Victory had the first chance of the game. Hussain Nihaan was on the end of a cross that was came back into play via the woodwork. But his header was off target.

Maziya had two chances soon after. Yashfaadh Habeeb saw his first attempt saved by Victory goalie Imran. His second attempt went wide of the target.

Maziya had the better chances of the game and as the clock ticked away they got more closer to finding the net. Ahmed Imaaz saw his shot saved in the 75th minute while Asadulla Abdulla shot in the 82nd minute went inches over the bar.

A corner played in by Adam Naseeh found Stewart who rose to the occasion to fire home into the back of the net and give Maziya all three points.
