MAALHOS AND THIMARAFUSHI ACHIEVE IMPORTANT THREE POINTS
Maalhos has easily beaten Fenfushi while Thimarafushi has won over the current champions, Kudahuvadhoo in today’s matches of Minivan Championship final round.
Kudahuvadhoo and Thimarafushi played from group one where the current champions suffered a 1-0 defeat against the Thimarafushi side. Match winning goal for Thimarafushi was scored by Kouassi Jean Francis in the 20th minute. With the hard fought win, Thimarafushi has now leveled with Kudahuvadhoo having earned 3 points from two games while Nilandhoo sits at the top with four points.
From group 2, Maalhos went up against Fenfushi which ended with a score of 6-0 in favour of Maalhos. Ahmed Wajeeh scored the opener in the 4th minute followed by a hat-trick from Hassan Fuadh (Jack) in the 21st, 34th and 47th minute. Mohamed Jailam (Oggy) scored his first goal of the tournament in the 78th minute while the sixth goal was an own goal by Fenfushi in the 85th minute. With the huge win, Maalhos now stand at the top of the table having six points from two games. Both Maalhos and Foakaidhoo have six points but Maalhos grabs the first spot by goal difference.
