New radiant sports club have moved to the top of the STO Male’ league standings with a comprehensive 4-1 win against united victory.

 

 

Ali Ashfaq(Dhagandey) scored two goals while Spanish striker Guillem Martim also grabbed two goals.

 

 

It was Guillem who scored with a powerful header in the 5th minuet to give blues the lead after Ashfaq’s freekick found Guillem whose header was placed in the top corner to perfection.

 

 

In the half hour mark Guillem doubled the lead to 2-0. This time Ashfaq capitalized on UV’s failed offside trap and took UV goalie Toplak away from goal before passing the ball across for Guillem who tapped the ball into the empty net.

 

 

Ashfaq scored two goals in the second half first in the 50th minute and then grabbed his second and doubled the blues lead in the 80th minute with a header that went in off the bar.

 

 

UV did get a consolation goal in the 82nd minute after a Blues goalie Imran failed to clear the ball.

 

 

Ali Ashfaq was awarded man of the match and he dedicated his man of the match to national team gaffer Petar Segart.

 

 

Tensions between Ashfaq and Segart has escalated ever since Ashfaq was excluded from the national squad that faced Bhutan after he failed to show up for the press conference.

 

 

After the win against Bhutan Segart  dedicated the win to Ashfaq and Ashadh Ali who Retired from national duty 7 hours before kickoff against Bhutan.
