UNDER 18: VILLA INTERNATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL (VIHS) TO THE FINAL!
Today evening in Milo Inter School Football Tournament 2018, under 18 age category, the current champion of age group Villa International High School (VIHS) has secured the last spot in the age group final.
VIHS played today’s match against Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and VIHS under 18 side managed to win the match by a 1-2 narrow margin. When two sides faced today’s encounter, it was a crucial match for both side to go further in the tournament, For CHSE the chances were little poor than VIHS. CHSE had 1 point and -1 goal before today’s match. So, I win was must for CHSE boys to keep going ahead in the tournament. And even a win also may close their door for the tournament as they have to wait for the result of the match between B.Atoll Education Center (BAEC) and Ahmadhiyya International School (AIS). A game which is going to be played after CHSE’s match. Because if tomorrow BAEC manage to win, then in points, BAEC and CHSE will be level and the best team will be decided on goal difference, but then the own power CHSE will be gone after today’s match.
But on the other side, for VIHS, had much better chances. As in the rankings they had the second place with 3 points and none as goal difference. So, for VIHS, a win from today’s match will guarantee a spot in the age group final. And if game ends as a draw, then VIHS also will lose their own power in the tournament as they have to wait for the result of the match between B.Atoll Education Center (BAEC) and Ahmadhiyya International School (AIS).
Ahmadhiyya International School (AIS) already being advanced to the final as they won the first two game, it was a crucial for both CHSE and VIHS to gain maximum points from the match.
During the first half of the game, it was CHSE who stood better on the pitch, while from the first moment to through out the match, VIHS players look tired as they had only one day to rest and recover before today’s match. CHSE managed to build up good attacks, somehow VIHS players managed to neutralize the attacks.
VIHS also kept trying to get in to the game as soon as possible. As a result, it was VIHS who scored the opening of the evening. VIHS captain, J.No#16 , Iyan Ahmed beautifully scored the only chance they got in the 6th minute.
But it did not take long for CHSE to come from behind to score the equalizing goal of the match. Just after 9 minutes to VIHS opener, in the 15th minute, J.No#9, Yamin Ali leveled the game for CHSE side with his goal.
Game went to interval as a 1-1 draw. During the second half, both team used fresh players, CHSE brought more attacking players to score and take the lead, and VIHS pretty much focused on defending them. It was J.No#11, Ibrahim Nabeel of VIHS under 18 side, who scored the winning goal for champion VIHS, from a corner during the last 10 minutes of game.
With this second win from the tournament, Villa International High School (VIHS) has secured the last spot in the age group final as they went to collect total 6 points.
It is set that the final match of the age group will be played between defending champion Villa International High School (VIHS) and Ahamdhiyya International School (AIS), the most successful side in the senior age category in Inter School Football. Final match will be played on 30th March evening 16:00 hrs at tournament venue, Henveiru Ground.
Current champion of the age group is Villa International High School. Runner-up is Dh.Atoll Education Center (Dh.Kudahuvadhoo) School. Ahmadhiyya is the most successful side in the senior age category in Inter School Football.
