UNDER18: VILLA INTERNATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL WINS THE MATCH AGAINST B.ATOLL EDUCATION CENTER , EYDHAFUSHI
Today evening in Milo Inter School Football Tournament 2018, under 18 age category, the current champion of age group, Villa International High School (VIHS) has registered their first victory after winning against B.Atoll Education Center (BAEC,Eydhafushi).
In the tournament venue, at Henveiru Ground, Eydhafushi boys played in their usual red shirt while VIHS side used their home color, royal blue. It was a crucial game for both side to keep themselves alive in the tournament, and it was displayed on the pitch from the beginning to till the end of the match from both teams. The spirit to win a game was all over the pitch.
Starting the game, VIHS got into the game much sooner than BAEC side. VIHS began to create danger in to the BAEC defense line as a result one of the BAEC defender was forced to stop the VIHS striker inside the box by fouling him. BAEC was penalized by a penalty. It was VIHS who took the lead of the game scoring the opening of the match from the spot. VIHS striker, J.No#7 , Ahmed Shawin, at the 9th minute, placed the penalty in full confidence at the left top corner of the BAEC goalie. It was seen that VIHS may score few more goals before half time whistle as they were creating pretty good chances. Somehow they were not able to change the score line before half time. BAEC brought fresh player before interval as they were trying to level the game before interval.
After interval, both started well the second part of the game. But, again it was VIHS who got into the game much sooner than the boys in red. Within the first two minutes, just after second half kick-off, VIHS striker, Ahmed Shawin scored the second of the evening by placing a beautiful volley over the BAEC goal keeper head. It made it 0-2 for VIHS. And again, in the following minute, Ahmed Shawin went to complete his hat-trick as he scored the third of the evening, giving a 0-3 margin lead to his side, VIHS. After today’s three goals, Ahmed Shawin fo VIHS, is the leading scorer in the age group and he is the first player to score a hat-trick in the tournament this year.
With brought tactical changes, BAEC kept trying to gain their objective from the game and VIHS also brought fresh feet to the pitch to keep hold on to the lead. Somehow, BAEC scored their first of the match in the added time. It was Red’s J.No#7 , Ahmed Shiyan who made his name into the scoresheet with his goal. But it was too late then as VIHS managed to win the game.
With today’s win, VIHS now sits at the second spot of the ranking with three points. On the third and fourth, Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and B.Atoll Education Center (BAEC, Eydhafushi) ranks respectively.
As Ahmadhiyya International School (AIS) being advanced to age group final, the remaining two fixtures for this age group will decide the second spot of the final.
On the next fixtures, on the 25th March, Sunday, to guarantee a spot in the final, champion Villa International High School (VIHS) will face Center for High Secondary Education (CHSE), whom is still looking for their first win in the tournament.
In the last fixture of the group stage, on 26th March, Monday, to fight for a place in the age group final, B.Atoll Education Center (BAEC, Eydhafushi) will face whom the only side so far making it to the final with maximum six points from two wins in two matches played, Ahmadhiyya International School (AIS).
Current champion of the age group is Villa International High School. Runner-up is Dh.Atoll Education Center (Dh.Kudahuvadhoo) School. Ahmadhiyya is the most successful side in the senior age category in Inter School Football.
