National team captain Ali Ashfaq has been declared unfit for the upcoming international friendly against Singapore.Despite being included in the squad Ashfaq did not travel to Singapore for the game and has stayed back in Male'.

Ashfaq suffered a back injury during the blues 2-2 draw against club Eagles. Speaking about the injury Petar Segrt said that Ashfaq spoke to him after the game against Eagles and gave him an update about the injury.

Ashfaq has been told by his doctor to take rest said Segrt. Coach Segrt added that Ashfaq will be fit for the AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Bhutan in Male'.

Red Snappers friendly against Singapore is set to take place tomorrow at 4:30 pm.
