MALDIVES NATIONAL TEAM DEPARTS TO PLAY A FRIENDLY MATCH AT SINGAPORE
Newly selected Maldives national team has departed last night, to Singapore to play a friendly match with the home team.
National team will play against Singapore on Friday (23rd March 2018) and is scheduled to kick off at 16:30 hours. The newly appointed head coach, Peter Segrt selected 23 players for the match against Singapore, out of which only Ali Ashfaq (Dhagandey) has stayed back due to injury caused in the latest match against Eagles in Male league.
Segrt has left out a few of the senior players of the national team to give chance to new players. Victory SC’s Shaafiu Ahmed (Shaafy), New Radinat’s Rilwan Waheed (Riley), Mohamed Rasheed (Hokey), Ahmed Abdulla (Lily) and Ahmed Arif (Baka) of Club Eagles have been left out by the national team coach. Naiz Hassan (Dhaadhu) of Maziya Sports & RC and Ahmed Rizwan (Rizey) of Club Eagles have also been left out by coach Segrt.
Players who are newly selected to the national team by the coach include Abdulla Yamin (Yaan) of Green Streets, Azzam Abdulla of TC Sports and Mohamed Naim of Club Eagles. Yaan and Azzam played for the U19 national team last year.
