Today evening in the ongoing Milo Inter School Football Tournament 2018’s under 14 age category, Iskandharu School has earned the last spot in the Final.
Today, Iskandharu earned the finalist spot after winning against Kalaafaanu School in the second semifinal match between.
It was Iskandharu under 14 boys who scored the opening of the evening and changing the game into theirs favour in the 14th minute by a brilliant finish by J.No#11 Mohamed Zayan. But it was not too late then Kalaafaanu junior green boys came from behind to level the game just 7 minutes after Iskandharu taking the lead. At the 21st minute, J.No#10 Adbulla Bilal leveled the game for Kalaafaanu Side.
Just after the Kalaafaanu’s goal, within a minute, at the 22nd minute, Abdulla Rai, J.No#20 scored and took the lead for Iskandharu again. Kalaafaanu boys kept trying to level the game, and it went well for them as just before the half time Kalaafanu J.No#10 scored his second of the evening. Game went to interval as a 2-2 draw.
During the second half, in the 54th minute, J.No#5 Ibrahim Shaiban scored and gave lead to Iskandharu side again making it 2-3 in the score line. It exciting to see how Kalaafaanu boys managed to comeback from behind and level the game. It was J.No#10 Ibrahim Ayan’s goal at the 57th minute which level the game for the third time.
Game ended as a 3-3 draw and match went to penalty shootout to decide the winner of the match. Iskandharu went to score three penalties to win the match. On the other hand, Kalaafanu two penalties were saved by Iskandharu goalie, missed one penalty and green boys were able to score only one penalty as they said good bye to this year’s campaign.
Have to highlight, unlike last year’s under 14 tournament, Kalaafaanu made a huge progression by reaching the semifinals, mean time Iskandharu is one step close to achieve what they could not last year as they are the runner-up as they got defeated against champions Ahmadhiyya International School in the final match.
Iskandharu School has to face Majeedhiyya School, who already have secured the first spot of the final, after a 0 – 1 win over Hiriyaa School in the first semifinal.
Under 14 age category final match will take place on 24th March between the winners of two semifinals.
Current champion of the age group is Ahmadhiyya International School. Runner-up is Iskandharu School.
