UNDER 18 OPENING MATCH! A GOAL LESS DRAW
The opening match of under 18 age category in Milo Inter School Football Tournament 2018 ended as a goal less draw for both sides. Center for High Secondary Education (CHSE) and B.Atoll Education Center (BAEC) opened the age group match today evening in National Football Stadium.
First half of the match was seen as an average for both sides in which both sides could not danger opponent’s goals. On the other hand, it was looked like both CHSE and BAEC was finding difficult to enter the game.
Unlike first half, after the interval, the action from both sides was much better as both sides tried to create few scoring chances respectively. Unfortunately, none of the team was able to use the most of it. It was CHSE who came least to give pressure to opponent goalie with few tries. CHSE jersey number 10, the under 19 national side player, Ismail Rishwan (Ricky) made couple of shots from outside of the box, which went cross bar wide.
Both teams brought fresh feet while the game reached its last quarter, however, the new players could not change the game on either sides favor as it ended as a goal less draw.
Under 18 age category will be played as a mini league format among four participating teams and a final between the best two teams. Unlike previous years, this year the number of participants in this age category has dropped. Only four schools will be taking part in the under 18 age category this year.
In the next match of this age group, champion Villa International High School will meet Ahmadhiyya International School on 19th March, Saturday evening 16:00 hrs at Henveiru Ground.
