In this year’s Milo Inter School Football Tournament 2018, it’s senior age category football is set to kick-off in this coming weekend, on 17^th March Saturday.

Unlike previous years, this year the number of participants in this age category has dropped. Only four schools will be taking part in the under 18 age category this year. It includes, current champions, Villa International High School, the most successful side in this age category, Ahmedhiyya International School, Center for High Secondary Education and B.Atoll Education Center (B.Eydhafushi School), a side taking part in the interschool football after a long break.

Looking into the schools on focus, first spot into the current champions.

Villa International High School’s under 18 side is led by Coach Ibrahim Saeed (Kaka), under whom, VIHS was crowned as the new champions of under 18 for the first time in school’s history. Coach Kaka is also assistant coach in Club Eagles since 2016 and currently assisting Eagles’s head coach, Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan). Under coach Kaka, VIHS won their last year under 18 title by being undefeated in the tournament as they took part in interschool football after long break of 3 years.

Ahmadhiyya International School’s under 18 is led by Coach Ibrahim (ibbe coach), who is also the head coach for Ahmadhiyya’s junior sides, under 14 and under 16. Ahmadhiyya holds the amazing record of most successful side in the under 18 age category, as they have won the title for straight five years.

Center for High Secondary Education, CHSE’s under 18 side is led by very experienced and the assistant coach to Maziya Sports and Recreation, Coach Ahmed Suzair. During last year also Coach Suzair handled the CHSE under 18 side in interschool football. Coach Suzair has being featuring in interschool football for numbers of times in previous years as the head coach for other schools too. Coach Suzair has being working as an assistant coach to Maziya green boys side for a long time.

While B.Atoll Educataion Center (B.Eydhafushi School) is participating after long break of 7 years, the atoll side will be led by Coach Mohamed Zahir (Battey). Coach Battey was the head coach of B.A.E.C’s under 18 side when they participated in inter school football back in 2012. After that, this is the first time B.A.E.C going to once again continue their story in inter school football. Coach Battey has being the head coach for the B.Eydhafushi senior team for the last three years, in which Minivan 50 championships also includes.

Under 18 age category will be played as a mini league format among four participating teams and a final between the best two teams.

In the tournament opening match Center for High Secondary Education will meet B.Atoll Educataion Center (B.Eydhafushi School) on 17^th March, Saturday evening 16:00 hrs at Henveiru Ground.

In the second match champion Villa International High School will meet Ahmadhiyya International School on 19^th March, Saturday evening 16:00 hrs at Henveiru Ground.
