Kondey Football Club has started practices to get ready for Zone 7, Ga Atoll round.

Former assistant coach, Abdulla Kinanat Gasim lead the training today. Kinanat has been the working with KFC last five seasons, including as the head coach in 2016.

Kinanat will be coaching a team largely based on Kondey players and a few additions from Ga Maamendhoo and last year's champions Ga Nilandhoo, including the captain, Ishaaq Ibrahim. Former BG Sports star Ahmed Usam (Kalhoo) is expected to play a key role for Kondey this season. Ga Gemanafushi captain, former Maziya captain Ahmed Nazmeen will also star for KFC.

Players to watch would be former Victory and BG Sports youngster Mohamed Inshau Ahmed (Shaa) and Nasru Mohamed Didi (Dinho) of Club PK and VB sports. Last year's captain Shinaz Mohamed is an experienced forward who would bully any defense in the Minivan Championships.

Kondey has to play against Villingili in a two match final to determine the Atoll Champions. Gaaf Alif champions will then play against the Gaaf daal Champions for the Zone 7 spot.  Winners of zones 5,6,7 and 8 will play play a six team league to determine the the two teams going into the Premier League. Other two teams to play in this league would be last years Premier League clubs, Kudahuvadhoo and Thinadhoo.
