Kurinbi council has decided not to take part in the 2018 Minivan Championship and the islands council has informed FA Maldives.

The main reason for Kurinbi's decision was after the competition was delayed twice. Due to Delaying of the tournament many players in Kurinbi squad are unable to play as most of the players have full time jobs and are unable to get leave.

Speaking to local online news Kulhudhuffushi online Kurinbi Council president Mohamed Afrah said that many of the players in the squad were unable to get release from their respective jobs. He also added that the council has informed FA Maldives about the issue with a letter.

"Many of the players took leave when the first schedule came out but when it changed they had to extend their leave and this was not possible most of the boys work in resorts" said Council president Afrah.

Minivan Championship was first schedule to kick star in late February Later the date was changed to march 3rd before once again the competition was delayed.
