New Radiant SC start their AFC Cup journey with an away match against Abhani of Bangladesh. The match is scheduled to be held tomorrow at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with kick off at 15:15 local time. New Radiant SC is in group E of this years AFC Cup along with Bengaluru FC of India who won their spot by eliminating TC Sports Club in the playoff rounds and Aizawl Football Club of India and Abhani of Bangladesh.

New Radiant is in good form going into the match, winning  the two matches they played in the STO Male’ league this season. The team started preseason preparations early with special focus to the AFC cup, aiming to produce a good result. In the last few season of AFC Cup, Maldivian Club teams have failed to go past the group stage.

Abahani in in good form too with four wins and a draw in their last five games. They are currently leading the Bangladesh Premier League points table with a 5 points advantage over second place rivals Sheikh Jamal.

Given the squad dept and the preparations, we feel New Radiant would give a strong fight to the remaining teams in the groups and look among favorite along with Benaluru FC to go to the next round from the group.
