Ali Nashid(ogaru Ayya) has been appointed by the Football Association of the Maldives as the chairperson of the National Teams Committee.

The other members in the committee are Darren Stewart (senior team coach), Dr Abdulla Rafiu, Mohamed Hanim and Rio Naoko Kawamoto(women's team coach) and the Technical Director who is yet to be appointed.

The purpose of this committee according to the FAM is to assist the team in arranging friendly matches, trainning camps, advising on fitness matters etc.

At the executive  commitee meeting last night FAM President Bassam Adeel Jaleel has said that this is an important year for Maldives football and that our target is to qualify for the Asian Cup and win the SAFF Suzuki Cup.
