The biggest futsal tournament held in Baa Atoll known as Baa Atoll Unity Futsal Challenge is scheduled to kick off on 9 March 2018.

The tournament will consist of 12 teams from Baa Atoll including 6 teams from resorts in Baa Atoll. It also includes 4 teams from Eydhafushi and 1 team from Dharavandhoo and Kudarikilu.

Teams participated from Eydhafushi include Velaa City, Irumathee Lovers, United V and Faims United. Kings United form Dharavandhoo and Ekuveri Guys from Kudarikilu have also participated in the tournament.

Dusit Thani Maldives, Milaidhoo Resort and Finolhu Maldives United are new participants in the tournament while Soneva Fushi, Amilla Fushi and Coco Plam Dhunikolhu Resort have previously participated in the tournament.

The tournament is organized by Club The Beginners, an NGO established in Eydhafushi with the main aim of bringing youth together through common interest in sportsmanship and competition. Faims United was crowned as last year’s champions after they beat Irumathee Lovers in the final.
