EAGLES OFFICIALLY BEGINS THE TRAINING FOR NEW SEASON
Club Eagles has officialy began their trainings for the upcoming season (football season 2018). Club Eagles is the first team to kick-off the trainings other than TC Sports, who began their trainings at the very begining of this January as they have their AFC play-off match on 23rd January.
Eagles began their trainings and Eagles will be led by their new head coach, Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan) who is among the best record holders among the local coaches.
The long term care taker and the one who guided as head coach for Club Eagles to their very first top flight title, Coach Ihsan Abdul Ghani (Saanthi) left the Eagles after failing to qualify to the last season Premier League.
The former Eagles head coach, Saanthi and the new one, Mohan, both has worked very close to each other in the numbers of occasion in the past. To be highlighted, Coach Ihsan and Coach Shiyaz were the assistant coaches of the 2008 SAFF Championship winning Maldives GOLD team. As both coaches have common in certain game philosophies and strategically in the game they both have being sharing same ideas in the past, Eagles believes it is a very good thing as Mohan was appointed as their new head coach.
Club Eagles have already brought experience players like former national team player, Mohamed Arif (Baka) to strengthen their mid field as the current Eagles captain Imran Nasheedh (Imma) has signed in for New Radient Sports Club for the upcoming season. As the transfer is yet open, it is beleived that more players will join the 2016's President's Cup winners.
Going in to the details on to the foreign players, Sri Lanka national team goalie, Sujan Pererer will be continuing his duty with Eagles. 2016's Premier League best goal keeper winner, Sujan, has already played the past three seasons with Eagles. It is believed that the Egyptian defender , Al Mahmoud (Ramos) also will be sticking with the Eagles as he his performance in last season was impressed by the Eagles management. And to fill the remaining two slots for foreign players in the squad, Eagles has comfortable period of time to bring the new arrivals on board.
