Football Association of Maldives has announced that this year’s 3^rd division football tournament will be kicked off on next month first, 1^st November. The tournament group stage draw took place today morning in FAM house where the representative from the participating teams were present.

Total 39 teams will be taking part in this year’s local third tier, with every team having the opportunity to include maximum four foreign players in their respective squads.

The tournament was rumored to be kicked off little sooner this year but it seems that kick-off of the tournament was finally postponed to the very beginning of next month due to the tightness in the FAM season’s football calendar as only two months is left till the season ends.

In this year’s third division, as usual first it will be the group stage round where participating 39 teams are already drawn into 10 groups, four teams in each group except the last group in which it includes three teams.

Here is the draw results for this year’s FAM 3^rd Division Football Tournament 2017:

In Group 1,  Amigos, Dhivehi Sifainge Club (D.S.C), L.Q Sports and Thimara FC.

In Group 2, C.B.L, Bench, Confere and Felcon.

In Group 3, Red Line Club (R.L.C), Lorenzo, All Youth Linkage (AYL) and Rivalsa.

In Group 4, Buru Sports, Super United, Sea Land and College.

In Group 5, Police Club, U.N friends, Tent and Rage.

In Group 6 , Lagoons, Gaamagu, OFF  FC and Dhandu Goalhi.

In Group 7, Valiant, Sent, Zefrol and Rock Street.

In Group 8, D.S, Muiveyo, Youth Recreation Club (Y.R.C) and Villimale United.

In Group 9, Velozia, Thulhaadhoo, Kumundhoo and L.T Sports.

And in the last group, in Group 10, Sea Life, Lineage and Bows.

Tournament will be opened by Group A, between Amigos and Dhivehi Sifainge Club (D.S.C) on 1^st November  at FAM Turf Stadium.
