This evening the National Football team has started their practice with 24 players in the Squad. The majority of the squad is New Radiant players which is 8. They are amed Faisal, Ali Fasir (Sentey), Hamza Mohamed (Hampu), Mohamed Rasheed (Hokey), Ahmed Abdulla (Lily), Akram Abdul Gani, Rilwan Waheed (Riley) and captain Ali Ashfaq (Dhangadey).

With these 8 players, 6 players from Maziya (Amdhan Ali, Mohamed Irufan, Ashhad Ali, Mohamed Umair, Samooh Ali and Ismail Easa), 4 players from TC (Hassan Naaiz, Ibrahim Waheed Hassan, Ahmed Zaadh and Mohamed Azzam), 2 players from GDH Thinadhoo (Imran Nasheed and Ahmed Rizwan), 1 player from SH Milandhoo (Mohamed Imran) and 3 players from Green Street (Ibrahim Rizuhan, Shafiu Ahmed and Mohamed Saaif) have been included in the squad.

While Ahmed Arif has not been called for the team even this time, this will be the first time Ibrahim Rizuhan is called for national duty in his football career. He is one of the most vital player of Green Street having played a major role in winning second Division Championship for the club last season.

TC' Mohames Azzam was also called for the squad. Unfortunately he can't play due to injury. Maziya's Assadulla Abdullah and Green Street's Ahmed Rasheed is also in the injury list.

Maldives lost the last match against Oman by 5 - 0, but a better result is expect with home advantage. This is also an important match if Maldives is to qualify for the AFC Asian Cup 2019.
