Football Association of Maldives concludes their second grassroot coaching course for this year.
Today in FAM Turf ground a football festival was held for kids to enjoy the game and grassroot coaches took part in the event guiding the kids during the games and exercises.

Developing a kid through football, the kid must have a good foundation for the skill and technique and in other aspects of the sport. And it is the duty of FAM to make sure those who act as coaches in these stages are fully educated and certified coaches.

FIFA and AFC also urges their membership associations to educate the coaching personals and help the youth development programs run by other parties, such as clubs.
Therefore FAM has so far conducted two grassroot coaching courses and four grassroot festivals for kids. In which more than 30 coaches were educated and around 500 kids engaged in the festivals.
According to FAM personals, there are more grassroot festivals to be held in this coming months of this year.

“We are trying to held grassroot festivals in the different corners of Maldives, to let the kids from the atoll and island enjoy the game and with that to educate the grassroot coaches. Hopefully there will be three more festivals held this year”.

Targeting to both small and most populated atolls and island, one from the three festivals will be held in N.Holhudhoo (very football passionate island) in the coming September. They also shared that they are in discussion with respected parties to held a festival in Laamu Atoll, one of the biggest atoll, with one of the biggest population. And also there will be a a year ending festival held in capital Male’.

“ It is also our aim to try our best to make sure the personals act as trainers are coaches in these kids very early ages are grassroot certified coaches or at least he or she is served with the knowledge of grassroot. Therefore we will continue with the effort to educate trained football coaches in all levels.” FAM official expressed.

With this FAM will fill this year’s football activity calendar with numbers of successful youth development programs. And the result of these programs awaits to be served in Maldives football. For that we all Maldivians appreciate the effort from the main body of Maldives football, FAM.
