Senior national team begins preparations for Oman match.

Maldives national team has began the preparations for the Oman match in Asian Cup qualification.

Team began the preparation with the 23 players squad in the national football stadium today evening, head coach Darren Stewart leading the training while coach Ismail Mahfooz assisting him.
National team is set to depart very soon to Qatar for a short training camp prior to the Oman match. The date of departure is yet to be confirmed.

Football Association of Maldives and coach Stewart selected he 23 players squad according to player’s season performance.

Maldives former captain and the legendary player, Ali Ashfag makes the highlight of the squad selection as he makes return in to the national squad with a mesmerizing performance with New Radiant Sports Club in Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League this season, netting 4 goals in 4 matches.
Dhivehi Premier League has already being put on a hold in order to give enough time for national side to prepare for their away fixture against Oman.

Prior to the today’s training, president of Football Association of Maldives, Mr.Bassam Adheel Jaleel and his co members were present to meet the players and officials of the national team.
