Ashfaq returns to National team squad
Fan favourite Ali Ashfaq (Dhagandey) returns to Maldives national team squad ahead of crucial AFC Cup qualifier against Oman. Dhagandey’s return was confirmed after medical tests.
The striker recently underwent a knee surgery but has since returned to action and has scored two goals in three games for New Radiant.
Dhagandey last featured for the Red Snappers against Laos in a home game where Maldives emerged victorious by four goals to nil.
Despite Red Snappers squad being boosted by the return of Dhagandey, Striker Asadulla Abdulla misses out due to injury. He is believed to be out of action for three weeks after suffering a knee injury against Milandhoo in the ongoing Dhivehi premier league.
The noticeably return is Rilwan Waheed (Riley) who returns to national services after a long absence. Ever since his return to New Radiant sports club Riley has been performing brilliantly as a right full back.
