With Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League on going Boalha MV takes the opportunity to introduce some of the lesser known players making their mark in this year’s Tournament. We start of with Maalho FT Goal Keeper Ibrahim Zameer, better know as IBU.

Boalha MV: How did you become interested in soccer?

IBU: As long as I remember I have been playing football. From my childhood at home too. That’s probably where the interest came from.

Boalha MV: What is your training schedule like? Do you practice every day?

IBU: IF there is a tournament I do train as per the team schedule. If there is no specific tournament, I play daily from 1630 to 1800 hrs.

Boalha MV: Who is the sports icon that has influenced you the most?

IBU: My sports icon is Edwin van der Sar

Boalha MV: Do you have a favorite professional soccer team/Country?

IBU: Manchester United, Real Madrid and Portugal

Boalha MV: What would be your ultimate achievement?

IBU: To play for the Maldives National Team

Boalha MV: What was the best advice you were ever given?

IBU: The coaches I have worked with have advised me to work hard, given that I have the basic talent needed.

Boalha MV: Do you have a saying or motto that you live your life by?

IBU: Hard work will have its rewards at the end

Boalha MV: Maalhos FT match against Thinadhoo was your first time playing at Galholhu National Stadium. How nervous were you and how was it?

IBU: The thought of playing at the National Stadium did make me very nervous before the match. But once the match started it was gone and enjoyed every bit of it.

Boalha MV: How good are you at FIFA 2017 ?

IBU: I don’t play FIFA

Boalha MV: Which Team do you think would with the Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League 2017 ?

IBU: Maziya SR

Boalha MV: When did you decide to play as a goal Keeper ?

IBU: Since 2013. Before that I was playing as a forward

Boalha MV: Under which current/past national or international coach would you like to player under ?

IBU: At local level I would like to play unber Sobah Mohamed. And at an international level to play under Sir Alex Ferguson would be a dream come true.

Boalha MV: You dream six aside team would be ?

IBU: Keeper Imarn Mohamed, Shafiu Ahmed, Ibrahim Fazeel (Oppo), Ali Fasir (sentey), Ali Ashfaq (Dhagadey) and Asadulla Abdulla.

Boalha MV: What do you do on your free time ?

IBU: Hanging out with friends and Fishing

Boalha MV: Your favourite Movie/Series is?

IBU: Prison Break

Boalha MV: In your opinion who is better, Messi or Ronaldo ?

IBU: Ronaldo

Boalha MV: Given that majority of the First division clubs have foreign goal keeper playing for them, if you get a chance from one of the team next year would you take it?

IBU: I surely would. It would be a dream come true.
