Maldives U16 team wins the second friendly also against Sri Lanka by 10 players.

Maldives U16 national football team has won the second friendly match also played against Sri Lankan U16 side today evening by 1-2.

Though Sri Lanka managed to scored the opener of the game, Maldives juniors managed to win the game with 10 players coming from behind by scoring a brace.

Coach Shaaz made few changes to starting xi today as Maldives had already won the first friendly by 3-0. Maldives starting xi was, Mohamed Raif (GK, J#1), Aalim Abdul Latheef (J#13), Ahmed Anoof(J#4), Ibrahim Azan(J#12), Mohamed Faihan(J#2), Ahmed Samaah (C, J#7), Ismail Yooh (J#11), Ibrahim Ilhan (J#8), Ahmed Raslan (J#9) and Mohamed Maish (J#15).

These friendly matches are played in preparation for the upcoming U-15 SAFF Championship in Nepal.

Sri Lanka managed to score the opening in the 26th minute during the first half and half ended Sri Lanka leading the match by 1-0.

During the second half Maldives juniors managed to score double in just three minutes. Ismail Mimrah scored the equalizing goal at the 76th minute. It is Mimrah’s second goal for Maldives U16 side. He also scored in the first friendly match. Soon after Maldives levelled the game, from Maldives, midfield player Ahmed Nahil was sent off.

It was Captain Ahmed Samaah who found the opponent net just 3 minutes after to Maldives first game levelling goal and put Maldives ahead of Sri Lanka in the 79th minute. Mimrah is a Majeedhiya School student and Ahmed Samaah is from Imaaduddin School.
