Mohamed Shazly's under 16 national team is preparing to take part in the under 16 SAFF championship and AFC under 16 qualification.

The young red snappers began preparation a month ago and their first task is the SAFF championship held from the from the 18th to the 27th of this month in Nepal.

Maldives are in group B with India and Nepal. Ahead of the tournament Maldives will play two friendlies in Sri Lanka.

After the SAFF championship the under 16 side will travel to Dushanbe to take on Oman, Tajikistan, Syria and Turkmenistan.
