New Radiant hit back at critics in style
New radiant sports club comfortably overcame TC by three goals to one with a wonderful performance. Adrien Gallardo, Ali Ashfaq and Ali Fasir scored for blues while the only goal for TC was scored by Stewart Cornelius.
TC started the match strongly and controlled the game for the first five minutes of the game. But as the game went on New Radiant grew stronger and wasted a handful of chances. Ali Ashfaq looked as if he was once again in his early 20s as he put on display a true "DHAGANDEY" performance. The first half ended with the blues failing to score a goal despite running riot.
New Radiant did not have to wait long. Blues were rewarded with a goal soon after the second half started. Adrien Gallardo fired home to make it 1-0 in the 47th minute but New Radiant's joy was short lived as TC substitute Ibrahim Mahudhee went on a wonderful run and cleverly beat blues left back Mohamed Rasheed (Hockey) before firing a cross into the box which was headed into the back of the net by Stewart Cornelius. TC's goal came a minute after New Radiant's goal much to the frustration of the Blues fans.
After TC's equalizer Blues pushed forward in search of their second goal to get the upper hand in the tie. Blues pressure paid of when they where awarded a free-kick in a promising position and up stepped the one and only Ali Ashfaq who beautifully guided the ball into the top corner of the net despite TC's Nepalese goalkeeper Kiran's last ditch efforts to save the wonderful effort.
However Ali Fasir (Sentey) who was full of running through out the match with no signs of tiredness was rewarded for his hard work with a wonder goal of his own. Sentey went past three TC players before firing a rocket from a tight angel into the roof of the net giving no chance whatsoever to Kiran.
Ali Ashfaq was awarded man of the match. New radiant founder Ahmed Waheed was the special guest of the match.
