Heartbreak for STO as MPL enters the semi-finals through after a penalty shootout in last night's Club Maldives Cup Quarterfinal match.

Ahmed Zifan Ibrahim gave STO the lead early in the second half only to be cancelled by Mohamed Saadh Nizar;s equaliser.  Two minutes on Haisham Ali gave MPL the lead. Mohamed Imran equalised five minutes before the full time whistle.

STO missed their first two penalties from Mohamed Zifan and Mohamed Saneem. Mohamed Hassan, Iyan Ahmed Rasheed and Mohamed Imran converted theirs. Ahmed Hussain, Saajid Rasheed, Mohamed Yafaau and Ali Shamal scored theirs while Ali Haisham missed for MPL.

MPL advanced through to the semi-final scheduled to be played on 30th October.
