Maldives National Football team boss Francisco Moriero has said that he wants to end the AFC Asian Cup qualification on a high note with a win over Sri Lanka in the final group game. Both Maldives and Sri Lanka have lost the previous two games Uzbekistan and Thailand. The gaffer said that the Lankan lions have drastically changed their style of play since Welsh coach Andy Morrison took charge.

Maldives lost the group opener against Thailand by a three goal margin while group hosts Uzbekistan fired four past a helpless Red Snappers side. Sri Lanka on the other hand went down by three goals while Thailand bagged two goals against the Lankan lions. Maldives won against Sri Lanka at home in the 2020 SAFF Championship however drew 4-4 in the Invitational tournament held in Sri Lanka at the end of last year.
