Thailand Fire Three Goals Past Maldives

Thailand eased to a three goal win against Maldives in the AFC Asian Cup qualification group opener. 

Maldives playing a defensive game, Thailand broke the deadlock in five minutes from halftime when Sarach Yooyen headed in a cross to goalkeeper Faisal's near post. Thailand doubled their lead deep into stoppage time Teerasil Dangda's first time shot from a low cross. Faisal managed to get in line, but was unable to stop the ball going in. 

Pansa Hemviboon scored Thailand's 3rd goal blasting past the goalkeeper from a cross the right side again. All the goals coming from goals from crosses from the right side of the Maldives defence. 

Hosts Uzbekistan defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in the Markaziy Stadium in the second game of the Asian Cup Qualification Group C clash.

Sri Lanka faces Thailand in their second group C match on 11th of June. Later that night hosts Uzbekistan will take on Maldives. Top two teams will qualify to the Asian Cup 23.
