FAM congress passes deficit budget of eight million

The Football Association of Maldives budget for 2022 has been passed following the Association congress held yesterday. The budget for the year passed by congress is 88.9 million Ruffiya. However, the FA expects to receive only 80.4 million meaning the Association will be short 8.6 million. Sponsors are expected to inject 43.7 million while funding from FIFA is expected to reach 24.3 million. AFC will contribute 6.2 million while the government will only be injecting 3.7 million. 

Expenditure for the year will bypass 88.9 million with the biggest portion of the budget spent toward the future programs of the FA. The project costs FA 29.3 million while the competition and expenses of the National Teams will top over 22.1 million. Bassam said that he is hopeful things will turn good sooner and admitted the financial difficulties the FA has faced. Bassam also added that payments for clubs will be settled before the end of the month.
