FIFA orders FAM to pay Koopman’s salary

Football Association of Maldives has been ordered to pay the salary of Martin Koopman for the dismissal of Koopman against the contract agreed by FA Maldives and Martin Koopman. The case of Koopman was followed by his assistant Rene who filed a case against FIFA claiming he had been removed from the post of Assistant coach against the agreement. 

FIFA concluded the case in favor of Rene and FA has been ordered to pay 187,000 dollars in damages due to the unlawful termination of the agreement. FIFA Tribunal order FA Maldives to pay the salary of Martin Koopman until January 2024 as agreed in the contract and that the payment is settled within 45 days.

Koopman was in charge of the Maldives for three games. Losing two and drawing one game. He was dismissed before the 2021 SAFF Championship.
