Maldives National team has started training for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. The third round will take place in Uzbekistan with the Red Snappers in a strong group with the likes of Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Sri Lanka. Players of Maziya did not take part in the sessions as they are away on club duty in the AFC Cup. The Maziya players will join the National team after the conclusion of the AFC Cup group stage.

A training camp is also not likely to be on the schedule and the team is set to fly to the qualifiers after training sessions in Male'. Maldives will kick-start the third round against Thailand on June 8th before taking on Uzbekistan on the 11th of June and conclude the third round matches against Sri Lanka on June 14th.
