Maldives National Futsal team suffer 17-0 defeat against Iran in the AFC Asian Futsal Cup qualifiers. Iran who are number one in the AFC ranking put in a tremendous display as the Red Snappers failed to create any real chances.

Maldives are in group A alongside tough opposition including the like of Iran, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. This is the first time Maldives is competing in the Asian qualifiers.
