The design of the New National Football Stadium has been unveiled by Sports Minister Ahmed Mahloof. Minister Mahloof published the new stadium concept via his official Twitter and Facebook handle post.

The new stadium will sit on the site of the current stadium and will boast a modern facade and include state-of-the-art seating for fans alongside brand new floodlights.

The new stadium will seat 11,500 spectators and sit on the National Stadium's current site. Groundbreaking will go underway late this year and the league matches will be played at FAM Turf ground and Hulhumale Stadium.
