Plans to hold President's Invitational 'POMIS CUP' in September

FA Maldives President Bassam Adeel Jaleel has said the Association has plans to host a invitational international football tournament this year. In a interview given to Adhadhu media Bassam said that plans have already been made to host the competition in early September with six or eight nations taking part. 

The tournament will named POMIS Cup and will be a Invitational  cup by the President of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. Previously Sports minister Mahloof stated President Solih wants a invitational tournament to be held in Maldives each year. 

In addition Bassam said that the FA is seeking to host the AFC Asian Cup qualification matches in the Maldives as well. The draw for the AFC Asian Cup qualification will be held on the 24th on this month and group games are set to take place centralized. 

Bassam urged fans to back the Red Snappers and said plenty of exciting matches for the national team will be played in Male'.
