Late penalty by Anjan Bista secures a 1-1 draw for Nepal.

Nepal progresses to the final match as they only needed a draw to progress. In the electrifying crowd, Bangladesh gained the early lead by striker Sumon Reza less than 10 minutes into the game. Saves by Kiran Chemjong kept the score at 0-1 at halftime.

Nepal pushed on strongly with goalkeeper Anisur Rahman(Zico) making excellent saves and Topu Barman leading their defence. Nepal fought on with utility player Rohit Chand playing in midfield and dictating the play. Bangladesh's hero Zico turned to villain late in the game when he came out to a poor back pass and handled the ball outside the penalty box. The shot-stopper was given a direct read card. 2 minutes from time Nepal was given a penalty for a push in the box. Anjan Bista equalised sending Nepal to their first ever SAFF Championship final.

Later tonight hosts Maldives need a point in their clash against India.
