Chhetri Strike Against Nepal Keeps India Alive
Late Goal by Indian Legendary striker Sunil Chhetri give India their first win in the SAFF Championship 21.
Nepal started a very defensive game with Kiran Chamjong and Rohit Chand commanding the Nepali resistance. At the end of the first half India missed a sitter when the Indian striker tapped the ball just wide.
In the second half India pushed forward with substitutes Liston Colaco and Udanta Singh down the flanks. Heroic saves from Kiran kept India at bay till the the deadlock was finally broken in the last ten minutes when Sunil Chhetri scored for India. The 37 year old Indian captain scoring his second of the tournament.
India must now beat Maldives on the 13th to qualify to the final.
